Skeletons & Arrowheads
we built bonfires
of cities when the
lake was drained to
fix the dam and sat
on piles of stones that
marked the graveyard.
these were not originally
burials at sea, just some
last rites, trappings of a bygone
land still here, where the skeletons mean
less than the arrowheads
