down the street there was a

shop which sold old clothes.

past that a gathering place for

vapid peers and politicos. a similar

church which was once a grocery

i’ve heard. another store sold other

things that were old. i stole a hat there

when i was young. across from the bar. i

have heard there were two bars, but to this i

cannot speak. there was a restaurant no one could sit in.

i was walking with a cigarette by myself and the snow flakes were little

drifting stars as i looked up past the red movie house awning and most

beautiful. do you remember? did you see it? the sun was so far away.
